Policies

The following information is my studio policies. These guidelines allow for a smooth and consistent year.

Semester Payment Option

  • There are two semesters: September to December, January to May.
  • Payments are made before the first lesson of the semester
  • Payments can be made by check, cash and Venmo.
  • There is a $75 non-refundable registration fee/student due at the time of registration. It holds your spot in the studio and goes toward books, materials and activities throughout the year.
  • Students that participate in optional activities such as festivals and competitions will have a small extra fee that the parent/student will cover. Parents are notified in advance of any activity that would include a fee.
  • Please write checks out for the exact amount on the tuition schedule. Thank you!

Monthly Payment Option

  • Monthly payments are made at or before the first lessons of the first 3 months. Late payments incur a 10% late fee if a payment is received after the 5th day of the month. If no payment is made by the 15th of the month, lessons will be suspended. Reinstatement of lessons will be at my discretion. Please write checks out for the exact amount stated on the tuition schedule. Thank you!
  • The monthly payment amount is divided evenly between the first three months of the semester.
  • There is a $75 non-refundable registration fee/student due at the time of registration. It holds your spot in the studio and goes toward books, materials and activities throughout the year.

Schedule

  • Lesson time(s) will be set at registration for the semester
  • If a student/parent wishes to change their lesson time mid-year this can be discussed on a case by case basis, however this is subject to availability and can not be guaranteed.
  • If a student knows in advance that a lesson will be missed, the student may use the studio swap list to switch times with another student.
  • When using the swap list please try to exchange for a lesson that runs for the same amount of time. Please inform me at least 24 hours in advance so I can prepare for the student.
  • In case of student illness please text or call me. Makeup lessons will be done virtually as the teacher/students schedule allows.
  • If I am ill or absent I will make up the lesson in accordance to both the student and my schedule.
  • The decision to discontinue lessons should be discussed thoughtfully with the teacher, student and parent. If for any reason you must stop lessons, it is suggested this be done at the end of the semester. At minimum a one month notice is required. At that time I will prorate the tuition for your final month to reflect the number of lessons that you have received based on the last lesson date. You will be required to pay this balance within 30 days.
  • Regrettably, I will have to dismiss a student if any of these circumstances occur: Failure to pay tuition on time, persistent absences, lack of progress due to insufficient practice.
  • It will be assumed that each student will be continuing lessons in the following semester unless I am notified otherwise.
